How We Started

 

As someone who has worked in the healthcare industry for over 15 years, I have had the privilege of experiencing and working within many different medical models.  I went to graduate school to pursue clinical care and, after graduating I realized clinical care wasn't where my heart was, but instead in administration.  Taking with me each experience from employment and schooling, I was able to see the effective and ineffective pieces of each - always thinking, "there has got to be a better way."  In doing this, I set down a path of searching for "the better way,” finally realizing that one of the biggest pieces that was missing was patient centered care through provider centered administrative support.

Providers spend years in school learning to treat and care for patients, which is what drives them - I have never met a clinical care provider who gets excited about meetings, scheduling, staffing, paperwork etc.. The time a provider spends on administrative tasks takes away from time they could be seeing and treating patients in need, reducing waiting lists and being able to keep a clinically minded focus.

I wanted to create an environment where providers are able to be completely focused on their patients and the individualized and compassionate care they provide and administrative staff are removed from the clinical and can focus on all the other pieces - everyone works within the area they are trained and most knowledgeable in.

Realizing this is how Frontier Health and Wellness came to be.

I have worked closely with providers to create an environment where clinical care and clinical decision making is their only focus and is solely theirs.  To fully support our providers, my administrative team is trained to create a calm and comfortable environment to ensure that anyone who is seen at Frontier Health and Wellness feels that they are always our priority, that we are always upfront and transparent in our communications and that we are there to be a resource however we are able.
